This is one community member's attempt to step out of the helplessness she felt following the earthquake that rocked the Sumner community. She converted her garage into a free community Laundromat. This is pretty significant, you can see the tanks of water there, that's because there has been no running water, so to have this "laundromat" must have meant the world to people, just to be able to do something normal (and necessary), like cleaning their clothes. I went past it the first time and thought it was awesome and the second time I passed it it was in use. Amazing.
Let us remember those stories of hope and take courage from these people's resiliency.
