| Telling the story- here I asked them to stand and run in place because I was telling a story about a professional runner |
I am so pumped about this new year! Champions has started again at Royal Road school and it is my favorite school yet (oops, am I allowed to have favorites?). These kids are so awesome, they are so engaged with the story (that I teach) and the song with the action moves, seriously, watching their faces is priceless! And this past week the story I told was about a NZ soccer player
Wynton Rufer who was incredible. We are teaching the kids about working hard and not giving up to get to the goals they wanna reach. And an amazing thing about this guy is that he had an amazing encounter with God in a phone booth in Switzerland. He was talking about God with his girlfriend and he said he felt this crazy peaceful sensation come over him and he knew that it was the spirit of God... and his life hasn't been the same since! So crazy! So then our team got to talk to the kids about having Jesus in our lives and the Spirit living in us, wow! LOVED IT! The kids had some funny responses to our questions but also some that showed they were really thinking about it. Amazing. OH AND BONUS- my sister was here visiting so she came along and helped with the kitchen staff cutting fruit and making sandwiches, I think she really enjoyed it too :-)
